WHO WENT CRAZY WITH KISS IN WEMBLEY 1988?

Well, at least a group of approx. 50 Dutch fans did ... as the (Dutch) KISS explorer army organized a trip to the legendary Wembley arena to see the band on sep 24/25. As this month marks the 25th anniversary of these shows a facebook group was started to take a trip down memory lane: https://www.facebook.com/groups/415821978526873/  

If you were there (with or without the fanclub), please go through your drawers, boxes on the attic and scrapbooks again and share your pictures and memories. And don't forget to check back sep 24/25 to listen to the shows. Yes, new found audio recordings of both nights will be uploaded excactly 25 years later so let's go CRAZY again!

Last year, FANGORIA published the official KISS Monster Magazine (issue #1 is still available in our store here, while the 3D issue #2 is sold out) and it’s no secret that this writer/editor is obsessed with but two things: horror movies and yes, KISS. It was a fixation that locked in preschool, and it was seeing Gene Simmons with fangs, leather, metal and bat wings on the cover of 1977’s LOVE GUN that drew me to Dracula. After the swoon of discovering garish and bloody perversions of gothic horror ebbed, I later fell in love with KISS’ patented brand of trashy 70’s rock n’roll and it’s that adoration of Paul Stanley’s scream and Simmons’s stomping, spitting persona that I’ve carried with me and will keep close to my heart until I die, whenever that may be.

New message from Bruce Kulick about his latest activities

KISS COFFEEHOUSE CLOSING IN MYRTLE BEACH

KISS Coffeehouse, which opened in June 2006 at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, is closing at the end of September.
The shop was the first and only licensed coffeehouse by the band, who backed the business owned by KISS fan Brian Galvin, through a brokered deal with the KISS exclusive merchandising company called Signatures Network, Inc. Today the coffeehouse website lists Johnny Rock as its owner.
KISS Coffeehouse is having a going out of business sale.
Legendary KISS band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons attended the opening seven years ago, and guitarist Ace Frehley came to Myrtle Beach for the one-year anniversary.
But in the end, there weren’t enough sales to keep it open.

KISS AUTOGRAPHED GOLD RECORD SELLS FOR BIG BUCKS

A signed gold-record award presented to Casablanca Records in recognition of selling 500,000 copies of Kiss’ eponymous 1974 album has fetched $2,500 on eBay, after being featured on a June 2013 episode of TV’s ‘Pawn Stars.’
All four original members of Kiss autographed the front glass, making the item all the more valuable through its nine-bid run on the auction site.

Kiss, home to ‘Cold Gin’ (a concert staple written by Ace Frehley) as well as perennial favorite ‘Deuce’ from Gene Simmons, only peaked at No. 84 on the Billboard charts — but it continued to sell as Kiss’ fame grew, eventually being certified gold in 1977.

Included with the original award is a certificate of authenticity, as well as a photo of Paul Stanley holding the gold record after it was signed; his autograph is dated 1993. Peter Criss rounded out the now-disbanded initial foursome in Kiss, which continues to this day with Simmons and Stanley.

Kiss’ current tour has a few U.S. more dates scheduled through August. The band then heads to Japan beginning in October.

"Die Aquarium Profis" show how they built a Kiss Aquarium at the Kiss Mini-Golf plant in Las Vegas. This one hour Special was shown already on August 7th on the German DMAX channel and can also be seen online here, but a repeat of this show is scheduled for Spetember 5th at 19:15. Alan G. Parker has been named director of the forthcoming official Kiss movie You Wanted The Best… You Got The Best.

The film promises to offer the most in-depth look yet at the band who formed in New York in the early 70s as Wicked Lester and went on to sell over 75 million albums.

Kiss singer/rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley says: “We are thrilled to have Alan on board to help tell the definitive KIss story. Alan’s knowledge of the band amazed even us.”

Band manager Doc McGhee added: “It’s an epic undertaking and everyone’s committed 100 per cent to bring this story to the big screen. We knew Alan was the only man for the job and we can’t wait to get started.”

Parker is currently in New York where work on the movie has just started. He comments: “I’m incredibly proud to be on board for this film, telling the story of a band I love so much and that has such a rich history.”

Last June 18th, more than 25 members of Kiss Army Spain travelled to Milan (Italy) to see the KISS concert of the European Monster Tour 2013.

My partner Fernando Martínez and I (Javier Rueda), as webmasters of www.kissarmyspain.com and presidents of Kiss Army Spain Fan Club, were lucky enough to enjoy a Photo pass and All Access pass. We wrote together all we could live and experience in the photographers pit, in the backstage, at the meet & greet session, at the concert and on the fantastic journey, along with our pictures, to tell the rock magazine Metal Hammer (Spanish edition), which features on the August issue an excellent coverage of it, with a full cover included. Besides, there are 4 long pages and several photos, which include one picture of us at the meet & greet and another one of several fan club members posing with the banner of www.kissarmyspain.com.

Besides that, the review ends with a great ad to join Kiss Army Spain Fan Club and become a member.
