NEW MOVIE ABOUT NEIL BOGART WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Record executive and producer Neil Bogart is now getting the biopic treatment as Deadline reports that Timberlake will star in and produce “Spinning Gold.” Written by Tim Bogart (yes, Neil’s son, who also penned “The I Inside” and “Jungle Book: Lost Treasure”) the film will tell the story of his father’s rags to riches tale as a Jewish kid from Brooklyn who founded Casablanca Records and found fortune releasing records by KISS, Donna Summer and Parliament. While nowadays bands make it or break it on a single record, Bogart was known for sticking with KISS through their middling sales of their first few albums before their breakthrough Alive.

KISS ROCKING WITH ARCHIE FOR NEW COMIC BOOK SERIES

Kiss and Archie comics — together at last? That’s the unlikely pairing that is coming together for a four-part series of comic books titled, appropriately, ‘Archie Meets Kiss.’

Due out later this year, the full-sized comic books reportedly will feature Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and the rest of the band as they save the Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead crew from the threat of invading monsters. How did this even happen? Not surprisingly, turns out that the always-enterprising Simmons dreamed it up.

INTERVIEW WITH CARRIE STEVENS (ERIC CARR'S EX-GIRLFRIEND)
Rockpages.gr recently did an interview with Carrie Stevens. Here's an excerpt:

Rockpages.gr: Were you intimidated by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons? I mean, you were only 19 years old and you get to hang out with an established act like KISS…

Carrie Stevens: Oh yeah! Definitely…especially Gene can be really intimidating at the beginning but when you get to know him better, you see that he is not as evil as he tends to show (laughs)!

Rockpages.gr: I remember reading somewhere about an incident where Paul Stanley tried to make a pass on you…

Carrie Stevens: Right! It was very funny (laughs)…I was actually sitting backstage…it was during the Hot In The Shade Tour and he saw me sitting on a couch…Eric was somewhere, I think he was grabbing something to eat…anyway, Paul wasn’t aware that I was with Eric as it was pretty early in our relationship and he suggested to take me at my hotel with his limo…I said that I was with a friend of mine and we will return by our car. It was very uncomfortable, I’ll tell you this…Paul was insisting and I finally said to him: “Ok, I’ll meet you at your hotel room”. I never showed up but I still remember the hotel room…it was 220! Paul never said a word to Eric about it.

Rockpages.gr: So, you entered the KISS world and what comes with it…good and bad. Apart from Christina (ex-wife of Bruce Kulick), did you make any good friends along the way and have you kept touch with any member of KISS?

Carrie Stevens: Uhh, JW (John Walsh) was Eric’s roadie, his drum tech…we are still in touch, and we send e-mail and stuff. For many years, I was in touch with Shannon (Tweed) but I lost touch with her…I am still very close with Gary Corbett who was the off-stage keyboard player for KISS. That’s about it…you know, it’s funny you should ask because there is a company that manages lots of bands…a friend of mine Paul Geary who used to be the drummer of Extreme is now there…we go to concerts together and stuff. One of the guys who work at the management office could not remember where he knew me from and one day he came to me and said: “Oh, I just figured it out where I know you from…you used to be Eric Carr’s girlfriend. I was the band’s touring manager in 1990”. Small world!

GENE SIMMONS GOES MOBILE AT SUMMIT

Music is supposed to be the universal language, but Kiss frontman Gene Simmons wants to take things one step further and translate the Internet.

During a keynote interview at the L.A. Mobile Entertainment Summit, moderated by Variety Group president Neil Stiles, Simmons discussed the need to speak to Internet users around the world in their own language.

"The world is no longer English dominated," Simmons stressed to attendees inside Hollywood & Highland's ballroom Tuesday.

Simmons cited the growth of Spanish-language networks like Telemundo and Univision in California as an example. "If you do not speak Spanish, you are not able to communicate with 50% of the California population," noted Simmons, who is fluent in four languages, including Hungarian.

Q: Out of curiosity, what is your relationship like with the band KISS?
Cooper: "Well, we knew KISS before they were KISS. Like before they called the Dodgers the Brooklyn Dodgers, they were a bunch of different things. Basically, we told them where to buy their make-up, you know? I think the only thing I said to them was, 'You’re gonna get criticized anyway because you’re wearing make-up, and people are going to immediately equate you with this.' And what they said in the press was very smart, you know: 'If one Alice works, than four ought to work.' And they were smart also do a show that wasn’t anything like my show. They used pyro and lasers and all the stuff that Alice didn’t use.
Gene [Simmons] is very smart, and so is Paul Stanley, and they’re smart enough to work with Ezrin, and they kind of chose him for what they were doing, and it worked. I’ve never been at odds with KISS, ever. They’ve always been guys that we’ve gotten along with; we’ve never really been at each other’s throats at all. In fact, I’ll probably be the one that’s championing them for the [Rock and Roll] Hall of Fame."

You spend a lot of time with Gene Simmons.
Yeah, we’re friends.

So, you see a guy who did what with his life?
He made every possible dream come true. He really did. He came here from Israel with nothing, him and his mother. No money. He created an empire that’s gotta be worth billions of dollars, and that’s pretty amazing considering that when he first moved to America he couldn’t even speak English. He had a thick, thick Israeli accent. That says a lot about his tenacity, his fortitude. He’s always been a role model for me in that sense.

That’s kind of how I feel I’ve been in this band in a lot of ways. It’s entertainment and it’s fun and everything else, but if you don’t handle the business side of things, it’s going to fall apart. Go find a new job. I think KISS is a very good role model looking at it that way. Obviously we’ve never been able to merchandise ourselves the way they do because we don’t have the image and the stuff. But from just meeting those guys over the years and touring with them over the years, you get a good sense of how their operation works and how they do things. You could sit and ask Gene questions for three hours. There’s nothing he loves more than to sit and talk about himself, which works out great for me.

Even though I know him and I’m friends with him, I’m still a sweaty 13-year-old when I’m with him. There’s still that part of me that’s thinking, I can’t believe I’m sitting there talking with Gene Simmons.

Gene Simmons is to host this year’s Classic Rock Roll Of Honour. And the musician to be given the coveted Living Legend award has also been revealed. Who is it? Read on…

When I was a 6 year old boy I heard Les Paul’s ‘How High the Moon’ over the radio and from that moment on I knew that I wanted to play the guitar and make music. That moment has led me to where I am today. Rock music continues to evolve and its great how established acts inspire the upcoming bands and vice versa, producing more and more great music. I am proud to be a small part of this”.

Simmons will host the event at The Roundhouse in London on Wednesday, November 9. And he’s clearly looking forward to it.

ANOTHER KISS EXPO IN ITALY
Another Kiss Expo with Eric Singer at the "Dancing La Montagnola" club in Via G.Garibaldi 57 at 6 pm in Modena, Italy is in the works. There is also talk about some ESP Gigs (as a trio unplugged without Chuck) in Europe.

The smallest venue KISS have played in over 20 years, packed with 500 fans and 300 entertainment industry freeloaders. It really does " Fit Like A Glove " !! INTERVIEW WITH ERIC SINGER
The Kiss Army Chile did an interview with Eric Singer. Here you listen to the interview. Eric said there have been 12 songs recorded for the album including one with him and one with Tommy on lead vocals, but they don't know yet which and how many of those songs will finally end up on the album.
He also said there will be new special effects on the next tour.

They used to make jokes when they saw me reading Golf Magazine, saying things like, "Hey, how's your stiff shaft?" Now I think they're jealous because I'm at charity events with cool stars, and I play places like Medinah, Winged Foot and Augusta. Gene [Simmons] came to my charity event last year, but he doesn't have the patience for golf.

THE SMART ASS WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT

Gene Simmons is finally revealing what Shannon Tweed told him when he asked for her hand in marriage ... and SHOCKER ... she didn't say no.
Now, the couple is planning the wedding -- and they've already sent out invitations -- complete with a sarcastic wedding announcement from their kids.
The announcement says, "After 28 years of loose strings, our parents have finally decided to tie the knot."
"Our mother will share our horrendous hyphenate of a last name and our father's life ... well, it doesn't change that much."
It continues on a heartfelt note -- saying, "But we will be united as a family in spirit and in title forever."
