KISS MUSEUM IN MEXICO CITY
Kissworld is opening next year in
Melbourne. But this won't be the first Kiss museum in the world. On June 13th 2003 opened
the first Kiss museum in Mexico City. It is a huge place and Kiss merchandise is displayed
all over the place in several rooms. It includes a club, where sometimes Kiss cover bands
are playing as well.
Owner Kiko became Kiss Fan in the late 70s and made his dream come true last year
with the opening of the first Kiss museum. Kiko has seen about 30 Kiss shows all over the
world following the band from Mexico to USA, from Europe to Australia. Favorite item he
says is a Paul Stanley Firehat, and the hardest items to find were the Australian
"Joint Action mobile Figures" from 1980 still sealed.
The only thing missing in his museum he says, are 4 original costumes and the Kiss
Pinball machine in great condition (if you have one for sale, e-mail Kiko at quico@coro.com.mx ).
On December 11th, 2004 the first Kiss Expo will take place at the Kiss museum in
the club. Eric Singer will be Special Guest. For more infos, check out Kiss News Mexico.
The museum and the club is located 25 minutes from Mexico City, on the Toluca
Highway (Kilometer 45.5), just 100 meters pass the "Los Encinos" Golf Club
Entrance. Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 7.00 pm - 3.00 am. Live bands play every
Friday and Saturday.

GENE SIMMONS INTERVIEW
(from www.tlchicken.com)
THE FOLLOWING INTERVIEW WITH GENE SIMMONS WAS CONDUCTED IN JUNE 2004, AND WAS
PRINTED IN OUR SUMMER 'O4 ISSUE.
GENE SIMMONS HAS IT BETTER THAN YOU. HE HAS MORE MONEY. HIS BAND, KISS, HAS SOLD MORE
RECORDS AND MERCHANDISE THAN ANY OTHER BAND EVER. HE HAS SLEPT WITH MORE WOMEN THAN YOU
HAVE TALKED TO IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE. AND NOW HE'S RELEASED HIS SECOND SOLO ALBUM, ASSHOLE,
WHERE HE CO-WROTE SONGS WITH BOB DYLAN AND FRANK ZAPPA. DOES THAT MAKE HIM AN ASSHOLE?
NIGHT WATCHMAN GOT TO FIND OUT FOR HIMSELF.
Night Watchman: Glad to hear you got your voice back.
Gene Simmons: Barely.
NW: Its got to be rough to lose it, and have to do a concert right after.
GS: And you know what? Nobody cares about excuses. Im sure you can hear my voice is
still a little--
NW: Its still a little raspy.
GS: Yeah.
NW: So, youve been doing interviews for years and years--
GS: Probably longer than youve been alive.
NW: Well, I got my first KISS album, Hotter Than Hell, when I was seven, so, yeah,
thats pretty safe to say. Im sure you get the same three or four questions
asked over and over again.
GS: Dont worry about it.
NW: I wanted to ask something different, because you must get asked the same things all
the time. So is there a question you want to answer, but no one ever asks?
GS: No, not really. If somebody asks me, "What time is it?" I just say,
"Im glad you asked me that. When I was a child, I forgot to clip my
toenails...." You know, I just say what I want to say. I dont wait for the
question. A question is just a button that gets pushed, and I start saying what I want to
say.
NW: What do you think about the perception of Gene Simmons as a person, versus Gene
Simmons as the character you portray in KISS?
GS: Well, to some people, Im an asshole, because I win every time.
NW: (laughs)

OFFICIAL STORE OPENING DELAYED
(from Blabbermouth)
According to AussyAce, the opening of the official KISS store, KissWorld,
in Melbourne, Australia now looks set to take place in January 2005 after a severe delay,
which should have seen the store open this month. The building is currently semi-open for
a KISS clearance sale of some KISS merchandise plus other collectable items.
The giant KISS mural on the outside wall should be up within the next few weeks so
look out that for that very soon.
The KissWorld store is said to be over 10,000 square feet in size and will
reportedly include some other bands' memorabilia and will even include some sporting
heroes and film stars, although the focus will naturally remain on KISS. There will
be everything from guitars to shirts and other clothing, to museum pieces through to an
amazing array of hand-signed and personal items.
P.S.: Furthermore there are strong rumours, that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley will be
attending the opening of the store. More infos and rumours in the Kiss Forum. [Comments]

GENE SIMMONS BIOGRAPHY
(from A&E)
The A&E Episode on Gene Simmons is set to premiere on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at
10pm ET.
About the Episode:
Simmons is the co-founder of KISS, one of the biggest and most successful rock 'n' roll
bands in American history. BIOGRAPHY: GENE SIMMONS reveals how Simmons has managed to
outlast, out-think and out-play most other rock stars. He parlayed his rock 'n' roll
success into books, movies, real estate development, TV shows, magazine publishing,
merchandising and his latest, highly anticipated project, his first solo album in 25
years, Asshole.
BIOGRAPHY: GENE SIMMONS takes viewers along with Gene and KISS on tour in Australia and
then back to Los Angeles to see Gene embroiled in the fast-paced world of a solo musician.
Viewers also see the album cover being shot by internationally famed photographer David
LaChapelle and sit in on radio shows and on top-secret business meetings. Then obsessive
fans, musicians, and celebrities come out to celebrate Gene's solo album at the first,
soon to be annual, Asshole party at the Sunset Strip Key Club. After getting to know Gene,
viewers will be surprised by his work ethic, impressed by his energy, shocked by his
opinions, and charmed by his playful spirit. They'll also be touched by the softer side of
the blood-spitting "Demon" - who cherishes every second he spends with his
family - Playmate Shannon Tweed and their two teenaged children, Nick and Sophie. [Comments]

KISS ACE NEW SIR AT SCHOOL
(from www.Mirror.co.uk)
Exclusive By Nicola Methven, Tv Editor
A WILD rocker becomes a teacher at a famous British public school in an explosive reality
TV show.
Pupils are to get the shock of their lives when their normal music master is replaced by
the Kiss frontman Gene Simmons.
Simmons, known for his demonic black and white make-up and extra long tongue, will teach
the kids how to rock.
In the series at Christ's Hospital in Horsham, West Sussex, the class will be turned into
a band.
Channel 4 chief Andrew Newman is thrilled to have signed the US legend and said: "The
culture clash will be hilarious."
Simmons, 55, a primary school teacher before he formed New York-based Kiss in 1972, once
said: "Anyone who tells you they got into rock 'n' roll other than for girls, fame
and money is full of s***."
He claims to have slept with 4,600 women.
Rock School will be screened next year on a new Friday night line-up. [Comments]

"KISS: THE VINTAGE YEARS" AUCTION
(from Backstage Auctions)
She was there at the very earliest days of Kiss career, and, of course, was
the inspiration for their first hit single, Beth, and now Lydia Criss, ex-wife
of Kiss drummer, Peter Criss, is auctioning off some of the memorabilia she has kept for
30 years. After all these years, I felt it was time to let go of my collection and
share it with the fans and collectors, says Lydia, I will always have my
precious memories of that wonderful time in my life.
The auction, which is being hosted by Backstage Auctions, the leading online auction house
for classic rock memorabilia, will begin on Sunday November 7th and run for 1 week through
Sunday, November 14th. It is well known that KISS is right up there with The
Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix in the value of their memorabilia, explains
Backstage Auctions founder Jacques van Gool, but these items go beyond that. This is
the history of the bands earliest days. Included in the auction will be such
precious mementos as handwritten lyrics to (including, of Beth), hand bills
from 1973 shows at New York clubs, jewelry and artwork.
In addition, Lydia is offering items from her years as a rock photographer so there will
be more than KISS memorabilia included. She is putting up vintage collectibles like the
handbills for Led Zeppelins first two shows at New Yorks Fillmore East, items
from the legendary hangout CBGBs, and photos and memorabilia from The Beatles, the Rolling
Stones, Ian Hunter, Rod Stewart, Van Halen, Queen and many others. This is more than
Lydia simply cleaning out her closet, laughs Jacques wife and partner, Kelli
van Gool, this is someone who has been right in the trenches of an entire era of
classic rock and every item in this auction has historical meaning.
A preview of some of the notable pieces in the auction can be found at www.backstageauctions.com as well as a
downloadable auction catalog. Backstage Auctions has hosted auctions for members or those
involved with a number of other classic rock bands. Most recently, they hosted a hugely
successful auction for legendary producer Eddie Kramer and the late Allan Coffman, Motley
Crues first manager. Backstage Auctions is currently lining up their schedule of
auctions for the first half of 2005. [Comments]
