ACE FREHLEY NEWS
(from eddietrunk.com)
5/25/07: Stopped by an visited my old friend Ace Frehley
last night at the NYC studio where he is now mixing his upcoming CD. Ace is doing so well,
is totally healthy and just in a great place now. I am very proud of him. Ace has recorded
10 new songs so far and is completing 3 to use as a demo for now. I can tell you there is
some strong label interest so he will no doubt have several options to release it. I heard
2 of the 3 new songs that are being finalized and I must say I was really impressed with
them. It is classic sounding Ace singing and playing. One track had a vocal from Ace that
almost had a Beatles type vibe, but still rockin. You will also be happy to know that Ace
plays all guitar and sings all vocals. The recordings were made with a trio of Ace, Anton
Fig on drums and new bassist Anthony Esposito (Lynch Mob). The touring band will be Ace,
Anthony and other players TBA. Ace also told me he wrote all the songs just before going
into the studio, so this is all fresh stuff. I'm really excited by the two songs I heard.
It is by far the most "Kiss-like" music from any past or present member of the
bands respective solo albums. We hung out for a couple hours, talked about the old days
and had some Japanese food. Really fun night and was great to see him as always. More news
when I can share it and of course keep an ear on the radio shows and to this site for all
the exclusive Ace news and music. Ace is back!
PS: There is NO set release date or live shows yet, when there is I will post!

SHARON OSBOURNES WARNING TO GENE
SIMMONS
(from entertainmentwise.com)
More foul mouthed words have come out of the
mouth of Sharon Osbourne, and this time Gene Simmons is the one on the receiving end.
Speaking to Blender Magazine, Sharon sums up her feelings towards the KISS front man thus: "[Simmons] said that our kids are on drugs and that his aren't messed up like that. He'll always be C-list, and his wife's snatch has been rubbed on every pole in L.A. I'll fucking tear his head off and stick it up his wife's cunt!"
Brilliant.
Hold on, didnt both Kelly and Jack go to rehab for
substance abuse treatment?

NEW PETER CRISS PRO MARK
DRUMSTICKS AVAILABLE
This interview with Peter Criss is posted on the Pro Mark website:
Pro-Mark is pleased to announce two new Autograph Models bearing the autograph of
legendary KISS drummer Peter Criss!
The TXR3JW, also known as the JazzCat, is 16 1/8" long and .512" (13mm) in diameter. It is made of American hickory with an "arrowhead" shaped tip and Natural finish. The 3J is a relatively thin and long stick, like a Pro-Mark TXJZW stick, and is designed for lighter playing applications. The imprint on the JazzCat was hand-drawn by Peter.
The TX3RW is 16 1/8" long and .531" (13.5mm) in diameter with a short taper for a more front-heavy rock feel. It is made of American hickory with a modified oval-shaped tip and Millennium II® finish.
Suggested retail price for the TXR3JW and TX3RW is $13.45, and both are in stock for immediate delivery.
We caught up with Peter recently and asked a few questions to find out what he's been up to lately... here's what he had to say:

"PAUL LYNDE HALLOWEEN
SPECIAL" COMING ON DVD
(from sitcomsonline.com)
S'more Entertainment will soon be releasing a lot
of DVDs. One of them will be The Paul Lynde Halloween
Special from such shows like Bewitched. On
October 2, they'll be releasing the amazingly bizarre, iconic and special as a single DVD
at $14.99. Not only is the resplendent Lynde in fine form in this October 1976 TV special,
he's joined by Margaret Hamilton (who dons the entire costume from The Wizard of Oz for
the only time since the original 1939 release, including the green make-up). She is joined
by Witchie Poo (Billie Hayes) from H.R. Pufnstuf
playing her 'sister', Tim Conway, Donny and Marie Osmond, Billy Barty, Roz "Pinkie
Tuscadero" Kelly", Betty White, Florence Henderson and as musical guests...KISS,
in their first TV appearance!
KISS performs 3 songs and the footage of them on stage 'talking' with Lynde is priceless.
S'more also has a deal with DiC to release such animated shows as The Littles and The
Get-Along Gang. And they will be releasing more series in the future, which I'm
sure many of us will be glad to have. We'll let you know as soon as they make it official!

KISS ROLLS OUT INITIAL SUMMER
DATES
(from livedaily.com)
by Tjames Madison
LiveDaily Contributor
Veteran rockers KISS have announced a pair of shows for July, the first steps in building
what the band, in a website posting last month, had hinted will likely become a full-blown
summer tour.
So far, the only destinations the band has on its calendar are a July 20 show in Sault
Ste. Marie, MI, and an appearance the following day at Rock Festival 2007 in Cadott, WI.
Australian-American rockers Mink, touring behind their debut single, 'Talk to Me,"
will provide opening support for both shows.
Joining bassist/singer Simmons and guitarist/singer Paul Stanley on stage are drummer Eric
Singer--who first played with the group during the band's non-make-up years--and guitarist
Tommy Thayer. In concert, Singer and Thayer wear the makeup and costumes made famous by
original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, respectively.
One-time KISS guitarist Mark St. John--real name Mark Norton--died in early April of an
apparent brain hemorrhage, according to KISS' official website. He was 51.
St. John, a member of KISS during its non-makeup years, replaced the group's second
guitarist, Vinnie Vincent, and appeared on the band's 1984 album, "Animalize."
As the group was preparing to launch a tour behind the release, St. John developed an
arthritic condition that caused his hands and arms to swell, which prevented him from
touring. He was replaced by guitarist Bruce Kulick.
"Mark tried his best to become the guitar player that KISS and our fans needed, so
that we could continue moving forward," Stanley posted on the band's website. "I
enjoyed and am proud of our work together on Animalize and know how much he wanted to take
that leap to the stage to play with us live. He was gracious in his acceptance that it
wouldn't happen and was supportive of Bruce and a gentleman when it was clear that his
ailment would end his time with us."

THOMMY THAYER Q & A
(from tommythayer.com)
Question 1: Tommy, I just want to thank you for your
continued support of our Armed Forces. I have been with the KISS Army forever, and the Air
Force for 17 years. I want you to know how much you are appreciated as a member of KISS,
and your undaunted support for the troops. I truly enjoyed meeting you on the Rock The
Nation Tour backstage, it was an honor to meet such humble person. Good luck to you and
all your endeavors, and I can't wait to see you and/or your work, which is truly first
class. Thanks for all you do.
- Brent Mickley, Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota
Answer: Brent, It means a lot to hear from you and your kind words. I really do appreciate
what a fantastic job you and all US Armed Forces are doing. Many people take it for
granted and they don't understand that we wouldn't have a United States of America if it
weren't for you, defending our liberty and freedoms. All the best to you, Tommy
Question 2: Hi Tommy, I love your guitar style. It is reminds me some of Steve Clark/Def
Leppard style. Anyway, about your guitar gear... Do you prefer Les Pauls that have a wide
50's neck or slim 60's? Do you also use stock Gibson pickups or aftermarket Duncans?
Kind Regards, Ken Crouch, Memphis, Tennessee
Answer: Hey Ken, Good observation on my guitar style, I do come from a Steve Clark style
of playing, I love earlier Def Leppard, On Through The Night, High & Dry, etc. My Les
Pauls generally have 1960-ish necks, which are a bit thinner, I guess it's just what I'm
used to. I have pretty big hands, so if I played the 1958 type necks (stockier) I'd
probably could get used to those too! I've used all kinds of pickups through the years. I
always used to use Duncan/Jeff Beck models, but since I've played in KISS, it's been
Gibson 498s. Hope that helps.. TT
Question 3: Hello Tommy, I saw you and Gene bowling on the Rock the Nation DVD and was
wondering how long you have been a bowler and your highest score?
Peace, Kevin Corren, Sunnyvale, California
Answer: Kevin, I've bowled off and on since I was 13 or 14 and have been in a few leagues
along the way. My top score is a 265, not bad for a guitar player...
Question 4: Hi Tommy, I read recently that the Rock The Nation Live! DVD achieved platinum
status for sales in the US, is that true? The reason I ask is because I hadn't heard
anything about it.
Thanks, Zach Hartnett, Austin, Texas
Answer: Another good question. The KISS Rock The Nation Live! DVD was recently awarded
Double-Platinum sales status here in the US by the Recording Industry Association of
America (RIAA). We just received our award plaques a couple weeks ago, what an honor!

PETER CRISS TO
RELEASE NEW SOLO CD
(from Music 5, Intern)
ROCK LEGEND PETER CRISS TO RELEASE NEW
SOLO CD ONE FOR ALL WORLDWIDE JULY 24 ON SILVERCAT RECORDS VIA SONY/RED
DISTRIBUTION
Peter Criss, founding member and drummer of
iconic rock group KISS, will release his new solo CD entitled ONE FOR ALL July 24 on
Silvercat Records, distributed by Sony/Red. The CD will be distributed day-and-date to
fans across the globe.
An autobiographical collection of songs that Criss produced and recorded over the course
of two years, ONE FOR ALL also includes several cover tunes that reflect his outlook on
life at this point in his long-standing career.
The lead vocalist and co-writer of what to this day remains KISS biggest Billboard
hit, Beth, which also went on to win a Peoples Choice Award, Criss goes back to his
songwriting roots with this new CD. Says Criss: The most important thing is that my
fans and other people will get a whole new outlook on me with this CD. Im
reinventing myself at my own pace, and for me, its now, more than ever, about being
true.
ONE FOR ALL is the first fully self-produced CD that Criss has recorded -- in addition to
arranging and writing the lyrics and melodies for most of the material on the CD.
Joined by longtime friends and acclaimed musicians Grammy award-winning bandleader
Paul Shaffer and bassist Will Lee, as well as guitarist Mike McLaughlin -- ONE FOR ALL is
a variously styled project, profoundly rich in ballads that touches on all aspects of
Criss life, and draws on his love of rock and R&B. The title track, recorded
with the Church of Transfiguration Boys Choir, was written in the wake of 9/11 and sets
the tone for the CD. Other songs include: Doesnt Get Better Than This, Last Night,
Faces in the Crowd, Heart Behind the Hands, Send in The Clowns, and even a tribute song to
his longtime bandmate and friend Ace Frehley titled Space Ace.
