KISS HISTORIAN AND PHOTO ARCHIVIST TO PUBLISH ULTIMATE BOOK CHRONICLING DAY-BY-DAY ACTIVITIES OF BAND'S CLASSIC ERA

June 3, 2015 (Houston, TX) - KISS historian and photo archivist Ros Radley plans to publish “MAGIC – KISS Kronicles 1973 to 1983,” a 500-page book that features a day-by-day account of the band’s first ten years, as well as over 400 never-before seen photos. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for fans to help support the project.

The book will include a chronological account of band activities in unprecedented detail: all photo sessions, recording sessions, rehearsals, concerts, interviews, TV appearances, record company meetings, band member travels and other personal activities. Compiled from a variety of sources published throughout the band’s 40-plus career, including books, magazines, newspapers and official band documents, the book will also feature details gleaned from new interviews with photographers, roadies, record executives, costume designers and fans.

The author, Ros Radley, has served as photo researcher and photo editor on several high-profile KISS projects, including the New York Times best seller “Nothin’ To Lose: The Making of KISS 1972 to 1975” by Ken Sharp, and the cover of Rolling Stone magazine’s April 10, 2014 issue. He also provided several photos for the Destroyer: Resurrected CD assisted with photo research for the Love Gun Deluxe Edition CD.

“MAGIC” will also present a complete study of KISS makeup, costumes, jewelry, hair styles, musical equipment and stage designs with photos to demonstrate the myriad of variations. Additionally, the book will highlight important first and last events in KISStory, such as the first time Gene Simmons ever spit blood in concert or the last time Peter Criss sang "Hard Luck Woman" in concert in the “First KISS, Last Licks” sections.

Hundreds of newly discovered facts and details will be revealed, myths explained and mysteries solved, making this book the most honest, comprehensive and detailed KISS book ever published. “MAGIC - KISS Kronicles 1973 to 1983” promises to be the definitive story of KISS’s original make up period.

“MAGIC” will be published by Radley in December, 2015. Eschewing publishers, who all insisted Radley cut the book’s length in half, the author is making the release of the book a fan affair, raising money via Kickstarter to license the photos and print the 9x12” hardcover book. ... that VH1 Classic Records had a 19X Multi-Platinum RIAA award created for the entire KISSology series in 2007? The massive industry award measures 50” x 71”, which is taller than the Bally pinball game and bigger than the 1970’s KISS super posters. It’s easily the largest RIAA award in history and if you never seen this award it’s because only two were ever manufactured, this one and the other for Gene Simmons’ house. The wholesale cost is $5K alone and a poster version of the artwork was created for fans that purchased a KISS meet n greet experience were allowed to pose with the poster version.
