Take for example when she opened her first Monster Mini-Golf in Connecticut in 2004. The black-light course was indoors, which in and of itself made the facility stand out from the competition. In addition, she picked Memorial Day weekend for the grand opening.

BRUCE KULICK RE-RELEASES "AUDIODOG"

GENE MAKES LAST MINUTE FATHER'S DAY TRIP TO "X FACTOR" AUDITIONS

Gene Simmons spent Father's Day with Simon Cowell and Britney Spears ... but not by choice -- he joined his daughter at the last minute as she tried out for "X-Factor." 

Sources close to "X-Factor" tell TMZ ... Sophie Simmons showed up at the San Francisco auditions today ... saying she wanted a "fair shot" and telling the judges, "This isn't about my dad. This is about my audition."

Of course ... her famous father was in attendance, but we're told he almost didn't make it. Sources say the KISS front man got a surprise call from his 19-year-old daughter the night before ... saying she couldn't come home for Father's Day because she was trying her hand at the talent competition.

We're told Gene decided to hop on a private jet and made it just in time to see his daughter belt out some tunes.

We'll find out soon if the apple falls far from the tree.

DID YOU KNOW...
... that there is also a very rare promo cover for the German "Sure know something" 7" single? In the '70s there were no German Kiss promo singles printed. The commercial print was used for promotion as well with an additional "Info" sheet ("Fact" sheet). However, for "Sure know something" there is also an extremely rare promotional cover, which is a really weird "foldout cover", which looks like it was made to be hung up for promotional use. Now for the very first time ever, this single has shown up on eBay. The auction shows also several photos of the cover.

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 4:29 PM ET) -- Former KISS guitarist Vinnie “Vinnie Vincent” Cusano must fork over royalty payments to the band's frontman Gene “Gene Simmons” Klein to cover attorneys' fees stemming from a lost legal battle against the singer, the Ninth Circuit ruled Thursday, rejecting Cusano's arguments that the payments were protected from garnishment.

The appeals court ruling affirms a California federal court's decisions arising from Cusano's royalty dispute with Klein. In his 1997 complaint, Cusano claimed that KISS wasn’t paying him all the royalties that were due to him for songs.

DESTROYER RE-ISSUE WILL BE COMING OUT SHORTY ACCORDING TO GENE SIMMONS

Kiss fans have anxiously been awaiting an update on the highly anticipated expanded reissue of the band’s landmark ‘Destroyer’ release, which was tentatively scheduled for release earlier this year, but failed to materialize.

According to Gene Simmons, we’ll be able to get our hands on the 35th anniversary edition ‘Destroyer’ reissue very soon. He says that it will be “coming out shortly, this summer.”

When German photographer Frank Zauritz had an appointment with Gene for an interview, he got also invited to see Kiss in Tulsa. He flew together with the band in their private jet to Tulsa and made photos not just on the plane, but also at the concert, backstage and even at the toilet. THE KISS MONSTER BOOK IS ALMOST HERE

KISS got an up close and personal look at a "finished proof" of the massive KISS Monster book last week and were quite impressed. Gene was quoted as saying, "It's fantastic!" After Paul had his first look he said, "This book is way beyond my expectations. The photos are incredible at this size. It's not a coffee table book, it's a coffee table!"

The KISS Monster book is a retrospective featuring all the different eras of KISS in makeup, starting in the early years and continuing on to present day. "We selected photos that captured the absolute essence of being in and around a KISS concert," says Tommy.

"Ten different editions will be dedicated personally to the KISS Army of the biggest countries we've toured throughout the World," Tommy continues, "each edition will feature a different cover featuring the flag of that nation and inside each book there will be a personally signed, dated and numbered dedication page from the band."

The book is presently being custom printed in Italy at EBS Editoriale Bortolazzi Stei, one of the finest book manufacturers in the world. Each individual copy will be handmade with no machines involved in the finishing and binding of the book. Each book will have a character and feel of its own, at the same time retaining explicit high production standards.

KISS will officially unveil the KISS Monster book in July. Stay Tuned!
