ROCK WITH KISS "ALL NITE" ABOARD THE
KISS KRUISE
(from nwi.com)
Every cruise is a theater of moving parts.
It is a full deck of anticipation, laughter, stress and escape. By the end of a
good cruise a sense of community exists.
Everything is in its place.
Of course, this is not lost on a transplant surgeon.
Dr. Alan Koffron of Birmingham, Michigan, was aboard the first Kiss Kruise, a
four-day affair held last October. Also featuring hard rock mavens Skid Row and
Chicago-based Bad City, the cruise tooled from Miami to the Bahamas and back.

KISS ROAR BACK THIS FALL WITH "MONSTER"
(from rollingstone.com)
KISS Roar Back This Fall With 'Monster'
'If this was a first record by a new band, I'd be floored,' says Gene Simmons.
It's been just shy of four decades since KISS released their eponymous debut album. But as
Gene Simmons says, the hard rock titans who are set to drop their 20th studio
album, Monster, on October 16th are still firing on all cylinders.
"The band is more focused than ever," Simmons tells Rolling Stone. "The
weather looks great for the band reinvigorated, redefined, refocused and
reborn."

LIVING THE DREAM: MY NEW JOB AS A KISS ROADIE
(from Hiring out heroes Today)
By Paul Jordan
My name is Paul Jordan and I work for KISS. It is my dream job. But how did it all
happen? Why KISS, and why hire me?
It all started in 1975, when I was 4 years old. A kid who lived near me came over
to my house and asked if I could play. My mom sent him to my room. He was a few years
older than me and not nearly as sheltered. He walked into my room wearing a down vest and
acting very sneaky.

PRIVATE UNPLUGGED SESSION INSTEAD OF SOUNDCHECK
(from Kissonline)
On Sunday in Raleigh, the schedule was tight, and KISS' crew needed all available
time to set up the massive stage for the evening's show. This left KISS without enough
time to do a sound check. So, rather than cancel the sound check part of the KISS Meet
& Greet, Paul Stanley came up with the idea of performing an impromptu
"private" set in the KISSONLINE Meet & Greet tent!
First, the band did a Q&A, answering questions from the fans who attended the Meet
& Greet. Then, they proceeded to play "Dr. Love", "C'mon and Love
Me", "Beth" and "Hard Luck Woman!" The band was seated for the
performance with Eric using a plastic bucket for a drum! The reaction from the fans, crew
and the band themselves was so positive that this experience has been made a permanent
part of the Meet & Greet! KISS will now perform a "private" set each evening
for these lucky fans instead of a sound check. We think you will love this as much as we
do!
Here are clips of "Calling Dr. Love" and " C'mon and Love Me" from Raleigh.

RANKING KISS: STUDIO ALBUMS FROM FIRST TO
WORST
(from examiner.com)
Kiss is undeniably one of the most polarizing bands in rock history. From their
outrageous makeup and stage shows, to bassist Gene Simmons massive ego and gratuitous
fiscal gluttony, the music is often overlooked. However, Kiss as a whole has inspired
innumerable bands, many of whom have gone on to stellar careers. Unlike Kiss, several have
even found their name in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Kiss remains, nearly 40 years
into its career, a dynamic band which has made a unique impact in the world of rock music,
for better or worse. This October, Kiss will release its twenty-fourth studio,
"Monster". In honor of that, the Examiner has ranked all 23 of the bands
studio albums.

Kiss, the band, garners fanatical, obsessive devotion more than almost any other
musical act, maybe ever. Despite countless attempts to ruin the fun with bad glam albums,
dramatic reality television, and the replacement of two original members with impostors

called an army without even a hint of irony.

KISS AND MÖTLEY CRÜE IN VIRGINIA BEACH
(from dailypress.com)
Saturday night in Virginia Beach, veteran glam rockers Kiss (or at least what's
left of them) stormed the Farm Bureau Live amphitheater proving that they've still got
ammunition enough to thrill.
While Kiss concerts are full of ritual at this point (Gene
Simmons loses a mouthful of blood in the rafters, Paul Stanley rides a cable over the
heads of the audience and rocks a song on a miniature stage near the soundboard, confetti
fills the air when the band plays its finale), improved staging and surprising enthusiasm
from both Simmons and Stanley made the show better than your average explosion of light,
color and guitar noise.

Here is a photo of KISS drummer extraordinaire Eric Singer's new Pearl
drum kit that he is currently using on "The Tour" this summer across North

Eric's new Pearl drum kit has a "mirror ball glass" finish to it. And as we

throughout the show.
Inside Sales/Marketing rep for Pearl Al Percival states: "Eric Singer is sporting a
new Masters series 6-ply maple finished with real cut mirror-ball glass (not a wrap), over
1,000 pieces on his kit. His kit consists of 2-24x15 bass drums, 8-10-12-13 toms, 14-16-18

KISS
WANTS TO ROCK AND ROLL ALL NIGHT AND HONOR EVERY VET
(from washingtontimes.com)
Friday night marks the official launch of Kiss summer tour, a mammoth
cross-country jaunt in support of the bands upcoming album, Monster.
Talk to a local veteran, however, and hell tell you that the real tour started on Thursday evening, when Kiss staged a private show for 1,600 members of the U.S. military.
We owe so much to the brave men and women who
voluntarily put on that uniform and go to places where people dont like them,
Gene Simmons explained earlier this week, several hours before he and his three band mates
Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer paid a visit to patients at
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Stanley and his bandmates have sold 100?million albums since they first daubed their faces

ops.

TOMMY LEE
ON KISS
(from fuse.tv)
So you're going on tour with KISS, which is incredible. You guys had a few
shows with them back in 1982. What do you remember most about that time?
I just remember it being really quick: I was so bummed! I was like, "Wait, thats it?" I was so dead-set on seeing what they really looked like. That was my thing. I was like, "Oh man, Im finally gonna be able to see what these dudes look like in sound check and sh*t," you know? And of course, I never got to see that because when they did walk into sound check they had a scarf on their face or they were covered up, so I never did get to see what they looked like. In one way I was bummed, but in another way I was like, "Thats f**kin cool." You know what I mean? Just that surprise and mystery of it all is what I was infatuated with. More than the show or the music or learning anything it was just like, "What do they really look like?"
And now you can just turn on the TV and see Gene Simmons without his makeup.
I know!
Were you a big fan of them going into the tour?
I dont think Ill ever forget opening up Kiss' Alive
II. You open up the album [on vinyl] like a book. The two sides open up into this big
centerfold with all this fire and crazy sh*t and thats when for me I was like,
"Whoa, what the f**k is this?" Musically a little bit, too. I was such a huge
fan of John Bonham and Led Zeppelin and that kinda stuff, but when it came to a show I was
like, "Wow, this is it, now we're talkin'." So yeah, [opening for KISS] meant
different things to me but it still freaked me out for sure.

WITH A NEW ALBUM, BOOK AND DVD, KISS ARE STILL ON
FIRE
(from thenational-ae)
Famed for their distinctive stage make-up and
pyrotechnics-fuelled concerts, the cartoonish hard rock band Kiss formed in New York City
in 1973. The founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are currently promoting Monster,
a ridiculously outsized book of glossy Kiss concert photos that costs around Dh15,800 and
measures 91 centimetres by 76cm.
You seem busier than ever
GS: It's a very exciting time for Kiss, but then it always
is. The 10-hour DVD Kissology Volume 4 is on the way. Not five hours. Not seven.
Ten. Then there's Monster the album and Monster the book, which weighs
four stone [6.3 kilograms]. People say of great books: "I couldn't put it down"
but this one's more "I couldn't pick it up".

INTERVIEW WITH PAUL
(from reuters.com)
(Reuters) - Get out your makeup and dust off
those platform boots, KISS is hitting the road again with one of the summer's biggest
concert tours, teaming up with fellow rock band Motley Crue and kicking off "The
Tour" on July 20 in Virginia.
The band, with its painted faces and pyrotechnics, was among the biggest acts of the 1970s, coming out of the glam rock era with hits like "Rock and Roll All Nite" as a predecessor of 1980s the heavy metal groups that included Motley Crue. KISS guitarist and singer Paul Stanley recently spoke to Reuters about the tour, the band's new album "Monster," and the secret to the group's longevity.
Q: After all these years, do you still feel pressure when you
hit the road?

PAUL STANLEY: GENE IS NOT BOSS OF KISS
(from list.co.uk)
KISS singer Paul Stanley says fans think Gene Simmons'
role in the band is "far greater than what it actually is," because of his
reality show.
Bass player Gene is often the most visible member of the 'Crazy Crazy Nights' group
through his outrageous comments and starring in his own reality show, 'Gene Simmons Family

BIGGER THAN JESUS? KISS ARE A ROCK RELIGION
(from express.co.uk)
ROCK BAND Kiss, of the heavily made-up faces and extravagant costumes, have
unveiled their latest release, a book entitled Monster. It weighs a suitably monstrous 4st
and, when opened, measures 5ft wide.
A band that is bigger than life deserves a book that is bigger than life, says
singer and guitarist Paul Stanley to cheers from the assembled media. Size does
count, adds Gene Simmons, the bassist with the legendary long tongue and Lothario
reputation. It is the Rolls-Royce of books, he says, explaining how each tome
is hand-bound, and goes on to describe the fanatical devotion of the sort of fan likely to
cough up the necessary £2,700 to acquire a copy of Monster as Kisstianity.
It sounds cultish but some people have dedicated their lives to Kiss, says
drummer Eric Singer.

ANIMATED DYNASTY LOGO
(from Øivind Jensen/Serpent
3D)
The inner sleeve of Kiss' 1979 «Dynasty»-album was quite striking
and memorable in terms of capturing the Kiss logo with a disco-feel. The original picture
was made making use of open shutter photography. Using that picture as a template it is
now available as an animation, and an example of how old visuals can be given new life
with versatile animation tools.

KISS: YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO ROCK 'N' ROLL
(from Metro M Blogs)
Mention that youre into rock music and people around you often get a bit
sniffy. Mention youre going to a Kiss concert and they take a pop, laugh and turn on
their heels.
Granted, Kiss look ridiculous in all their make-up and costumes and, with frontmen Gene Simmons at 62 and Paul Stanley at 60, you could be forgiven for thinking its time they hung up their guitars and Zimmer-framed it into the sunset.
But hey, it wouldnt be Kiss without all the get-up garb. And its all a far cry from their first gig back in 1973 when the audience was just three.
Today, they have sold more than 100million albums and pack
out stadiums all over the world. Clearly, the formula works.

KISS: MONSTERS OF ROCK
(from guardian.co.uk)
Warpaint, concept albums, 'misdeeds' and being embraced by middle America: Kiss
tell their rock'n'roll tale in their own words
You have to wash your hands before touching Kiss's new book.
Given that only 1,000 have been printed, one would imagine the copy being shown to
journalists in a hotel basement in London will be given a wipedown and sold along with the
other 999.
It would be a very Kiss thing to do. On the one hand, Paul
Stanley and Gene Simmons long the only two members of Kiss who matter, and around
whom drummers and lead guitarists rotate and revolve want to make a statement
about their legacy. On the other, their chosen instrument is an extraordinary
collection of photos, almost as large as life Kiss Monster Book is 3ft high and
opens to 5ft wide that won't fit on your bookshelf and will cost
you $4,299.

Ace has been great about playing New York every year, and
Wednesday nights concert wasnt even part of a national tour. The axeman flew

KISS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS, SAYS SEBASTIAN
BACH
(from newspakiston.pk)
Sebastian Bach, the former Skid Row front-man, has revealed that Kiss has remained
one of his favourite heavy metal bands in the history.
The 44-year-old singer, who remained the lead vocalist of Skid Row from 1987 to 1996, expressed his admiration for Gene Simmons, and asserted that he is one of the best performer in front of the audience.
One of my favourite bands in history is Kiss. One of the coolest things Ive always loved about Gene Simmons is that he truly lets the fans be the boss. Whatever the fans think is cool, Gene tries to give us what we want. Always, Bach stated in a recent interview.
The Canadian went on to admit that his band never really cared what fans wanted from them, though, he insisted that it is the support of the fans that made them a huge success.
For almost 40 years now, Kiss has let the fans be the
boss, and the fans love them for it. They really know how to succeed in this business. And
my old band? Is the complete opposite of that. Individually, Im sure we all
appreciate the fans for putting us where we are today and giving us a great life. I know I
do! But collectively, as a band, we dont care at all about what it is that the fans
want, Bach concluded.

It was instead comic books, and theyre tying into Simmons latest goal in the

player. With more hair.
A regular at Comic-Con over the years, Simmons comes to San Diego this week with a

KISS -
REVIEW
(from guardian.co.uk)
Kiss have fetched up in a venue slightly smaller than their usual arenas in aid of a
charity. Help For Heroes benefits servicemen wounded in the line of duty: "So that we
can rock," avers singer-guitarist Paul Stanley, a man reassuringly steadfast in the
belief that Iraq was invaded largely for Kiss's benefit. Lest any long-term fans think the
self-styled Hottest Rock Band in the World have taken leave of their senses and started
acting entirely out of munificence, it's worth noting that they're also over here flogging
something. Not a record but a book of photos: Monster, which is three feet high and
retails at $4,299. "Kiss got an up close and personal look at a 'finished
proof'," offers the
book's website, "and were quite impressed" not perhaps the ringing
endorsement you might hope for were you considering spending $4,299.

KISS
MONSTER BOOK LAUNCH/PRESS CONFERENCE REVIEW
(from Ray Morrissey/raysgigs.com)
03 July 2012, 11.45am to 2.45pm I was at the KISS press conference at The Arts Club, Dover
Street, London W1.
All four current KISS members were here. In civilian clothes rather than KISS costumes and
face paint. This was mainly to launch their "Monster" book which is the biggest
and heaviest rock book of all time. Frontman Gene Simmons labelled the publication as 'the
Rolls-Royce of books'. Gene also said "we will back back over here next year with a
"Monster" live production that will show the little boys how the big boys do
it".
Paul Stanley broke into a cockney accent too. They talked about The Help For Heroes
charity and the new single that is released this week.
This event was split into two different sections. We were here three hours but the band
were here for 30 mins for the main bit and 15 mins for the second bit.
First was around 150 press folks with lots of tv camera crews.I get a decent view after
climbing over their stuff. Then tv cameras all kicked out and the band come back for a
second session to say hello to all the team that made the book possible which was more
relaxed.
The band were not in signing mode or chat one to one as such but Doc McGhee their
legendary manager is always keen to chat. He tells me KISS to play 02 Arena for the first
time as part of their UK and European tour for May/June 2013. He even tells me what hotel
they are staying at. He says KISS fly out back to America on Friday.
Looks like Tommy Thayer had the most input from the band with putting it together with the
publishers. The book is handled by staff wearing white gloves.
I think it would take two people to carry it is that huge. Forty years worth of some
fantastic pictures. Each book is signed by the band.Only 1000 copies.

KISS LYRIC VIDEO PREMIERS TODAY AT NOON
(from Kissonline)
MONSTER INVASION CONTINUES!
BIGGEST BAND IN AMERICA KISS - ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM MONSTER IN STORES OCTOBER 15,
INTERNATIONALLY, OCTOBER 16 IN NORTH AMERICA
Worldwide Premiere of Lyric Video July 3, 12 Noon EST across VEVO
Were a real, flesh-and-blood rock and roll band with people whove spent
40 years doing what we believe in. Paul Stanley, 2012
Rock legends KISS return with Monster, the 20th studio album in their historic career, set
for release in October 15 (October 16 in North America) through Universal Music
Enterprises. The bands first single, the full-throttle, autobiographical rocker
Hell or Hallelujah, is available digitally today, July 3, and makes its
worldwide premiere with the lyric video across VEVO, the worlds leading all-premium
music video and entertainment platform, which includes VEVO.com, mobile, connected devices
and syndication partners like YouTube.
Monster, the 12-track, straight-ahead rock n roll album features
collaborations among all four membersincluding co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene
Simmons and longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singerin an
album that shows the band at the top of its game. And thats saying something,
considering their illustrious, 40-plus year history28 U.S. gold albums, the most
gold records for any American rock band, 40 million sales in the U.S., and a total
exceeding 100 million worldwide.
Monster represents KISS nod to the music that first inspired them to pick up their
guitars and flame-throwers and don makeup to entertain millions. The group goes back to
their own beginnings. There are no symphony orchestras, boy choirs, keyboards,
outside producers or songwriters on this album, promises Gene Simmons. The
best thing we did was to turn inwards to ourselves. Tommy and Eric have revitalized this
band, with a work ethic and the talent to back it up. This is a real band effort. KISS has
become a behemoth. Were going where no bands have gone before.
On July 4, the day after Hell or Hallelujah hits digital retail in North
America, KISS crosses the ocean for its very own Tea Party, performing an Independence Day
show at The Forum in London, a holiday most certainly not celebrated in the U.K., though
this show might just offer some reparation for that bitter defeat in 1776. The concert
will serve as a benefit for the British Help for Heroes organization, which
raises money for its wounded, sick and injured troops.

KISS' PAUL STANLEY BLASTS DULL LOOKING ROCK
STARS
(from malextra.com)
KISS musician Paul Stanley has blasted rock stars who
look "like your neighbour".
KISS musician Paul Stanley says rock stars shouldn't look "like your neighbour".
The rocker and his bandmates have built their career on their
huge personalities, shocking make-up and elaborate stage shows, and Paul thinks bands who
dress in regular clothes and don't make an effort "doesn't deserve your money".
