Wenn Legenden Abschied nehmen, wird es laut. Wenn
KISS Abschied nehmen, wird es lauter! Zum 50. Jubiläum der
ikonischsten aller Rockbands verabschieden sich Paul
Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer und Tommy Thayer mit 50
letzten Shows weltweit von ihren Fans. Fünf davon spielen
sie diesen Sommer in Deutschland. „Wir werden noch einmal
alles geben!“, verspricht Paul unlängst in der Howard Stern
Show. Und wenn KISS das versprechen, dann weiß man was das
heißt: der ganze große Knall! Denn alles unter gewaltig ist
zu klein.
Fans dürfen sich also auf ein fulminantes
Spektakel ihrer geliebten Schminkemonster freuen:
Explosionen, Riffs und fliegende Superhelden! KISS spucken
Blut und Feuer, sie schießen Raketen aus ihren Instrumenten
und schweben über den Köpfen der Fans quer durch die Hallen.
„Mehr Hightech als bei unseren Konzerten gibt es einfach
nicht. Und trotzdem ist jedes einzelne eine
1a-Rock’n’Roll-Show, die zu keinem Moment ihren Wumms
verliert“, erklärt Paul Stanley.
Im klassischen
Make-up feiern sie über zwei Stunden lang die Lieder, die
ein ganzes Genre prägten und KISS in die Rock And Roll Hall
Of Fame führten. Dazu gehören Klassiker wie „I Was Made For
Lovin’ You“, „Love Gun“, „Deuce“ und andere Perlen aus 24
gold- und platinveredelten Studioalben. Zum Schluss, wie
könnte es anders sein, wird der KISS-Klassiker„Rock And Roll
Nite“ ertönen – so wie schon seit Dekaden bei jeder Show.
„Wir können unsere Konzerte nicht besser beenden als mit
diesem Song. Er spiegelt einfach all das wider, um das es
bei KISS geht“, fährt Stanley fort. Simmons ergänzt: „Wir
haben auf der ganzen Welt gespielt, in Ländern mit den
unterschiedlichsten Kulturen und Sprachen. Doch wenn dieser
Song kommt, kann wirklich jeder mitsingen.“
Bereits
jetzt ist die Nachfrage nach den Tickets für die allerletzte
Tour riesig:
50.000 Karten für die Shows in München (17.
Juni), Dresden (21. Juni), Berlin (22. Juni), Mannheim (1.
Juli) und Köln (2. Juli) wurden bereits verkauft. Der Termin
in der SAP-Arena in Mannheim ist sogar jetzt schon
ausverkauft, für Köln und Berlin sind nur noch wenige Karten
verfügbar.
Neben „Demon“, „Spaceman“, „Starchild“ und
„Catman“ dürfen Fans sich außerdem auf hochkarätige Support
Acts freuen: Bereits bestätigt sind AIRBOURNE (München) und
SKID ROW (Mannheim, Köln)! Die Support Acts für Berlin und
Dresden werden in Kürze bekanntgegeben.

2019 im kanadischen Vancouver gestartete END OF THE ROAD
World Tour führte KISS bereits in die größten Hallen
Nordamerikas, quer durch Europa, nach Asien, Ozeanien,
Südamerika und auf die Headliner-Slots bedeutender
Festivals. Zwei Jahre mussten sie wegen der Corona-Pandemie
pausieren, nun beenden sie ihre überwältigende Musikkarriere
genau fünf Dekaden nach ihren ersten Shows – am 1. und 2.
Dezember diesen Jahres in New York, der Stadt in der alles
begann. Dazu sagt Gene Simmons: „KISS wurde in der 23rd
Street geboren, und es hat nur 50 Jahre gedauert, bis sie
zehn Blocks entfernt in der 33rd Street im Madison Square
Garden die letzten Shows spielen werden.“ Ein Ereignis, das
sicher für große Emotionen bei den harten Rockern sorgen
wird: „Ich mache immer Sprüche darüber, dass Männer nicht
weinen“, sagt Simmons. „Aber ich werde ganz sicher Tränen
verdrücken und heulen wie ein kleines Mädchen.“

They
pulled on their platform boots and slapped on the makeup when
everybody else was discarding theirs. Their albums were subject
to poor production, scathing reviews, and commercial
indifference. Other bands refused to have them as their opening
act. Their record company was up against the wall. By all
reasoning, they should have become one of the ‘lost’ bands of
the 1970s, like the Harlots of 42nd Street or the Hollywood
Stars. Yet in 1975 Kiss unexpectedly came Alive! and by the
following year, they were the biggest rock and roll band – and
brand – in America. This is a journey through Kiss’s first and
most storied decade. It is the story of the four men behind the
masks, and the music they made, the studio albums, the legendary
live albums, and of one of the greatest rock follies in music
history, the four simultaneously released solo album. Along the
way, it tells of the costumes and the concerts, the merchandise
and the Marvel comic books, the television appearances and the
disastrous 1978 movie, Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park. And
having bestrode the 1970s like an unstoppable colossus, it ends
with Kiss under siege, beset by changing public taste without,
and combustible personalities within.
